Scott and Annica began their partnership in 2003, focussing their interest on the international standard ballroom dances (waltz, tango, Viennese waltz, foxtrot, and quickstep.) They soon began competing around the United States about once a month. They have won or been finalists in many rising star and open professional championships. They enjoy imparting their dance knowledge and experience to students ranging from newcomers to fellow professionals. Their many professional demonstrations are received enthusiastically by audiences of all ages.
Born in Stockholm, Sweden, Annica moved to the United States in 1988. She was a gymnast as a child, and also had years of training in folkdancing and some Jazzdance. Her interests later turned to country-western dancing (nightclub two-step, cha-cha, waltz, two-step, east coast swing, and west coast swing.) She competed in this style of dance for several years, taking several first places. She has studied with many world champions in country-western, Latin, and ballroom dance. She was awarded her associate degree by the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing in November of 2004.
She teaches ballroom, Latin, country-western, swing, and salsa dancing. She is now competing in the international standard style (waltz, tango, Viennese waltz, foxtrot, and quickstep), and has either won or placed high in many rising star and open professional championships.
Scott read an advertisement in an Albuquerque newspaper for ballroom dance instructors one day and knew right away that he had found his career. For several years he worked in different studios and soon achieved the gold level in both ballroom and latin dances. His passion turned in the direction of the international standard dances (waltz, tango, Viennese waltz, foxtrot, and quickstep). In 1983, he moved to California and began to pursue his two main goals. He reached one goal in 1991, when he earned his fellowship in the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance.
He is still seeking his second goal--attaining the highest placing that he can in competition. He has won eight rising star championships and has placed in the final round of many open professional championships. He believes that his dancing skills will be rewarded ultimately at the highest levels of competition. His technical expertise is widely acknowledged by students and fellow professionals alike.
